Alexandros Tsirintanis
He studied at the Law School of the University of Athens and at the universities of Munich, Berlin, Paris and Hamburg, where he was declared Doctor of Law with the Great praise, «magna cum laude». He was a Lecturer since 1933, and became Professor of the Commercial Law of the University of Athens in 1942 where he taught until 1968. The scientific production and writing activity made him known outside Greece as a leading figure of the Law Science. He was member of the Permanent Legislative Committee and of the Special Committees for Insurance and Marine Code, President of the Greek Association of Insurance Science, President of the Greek Association of European Legal Cooperation, Member of the International Law Association, of the Comite Maritime Internationale and the Société Européenne de Culture. He 's considered the founder of Private Insurance Law in Greece. He was Minister of Justice in the government of Dova (1961).
He was also a founder member of the "Christian Union of Scientists" (1937) and editor of its magazine Aktines (Rays). He had written extensively. His book «Knowing Where We Are Going – Contemporary Problems and the Christian Faith» ( London 1977)--translated both in english and french-- constitutes an integrated Christian worldview. In 1959 he founded the "Union of Greek Culture" and issued the magazine Syzitisis (Discussion)
