Markos Eugenikos

Markos Eugenikos lived throughout the first half of the 15th century. He became a monk from a young age, and received a high education. After having served as Director of the Patriarchal Seminary, he became Bishop of Efesos in 1437. He is mostly known for his participation in the Snod of Ferrara-Florence on the Unity of Churches, which he did not sign. 

His writings were quite numerous, and mostly evolved on the issue of the unification of the Churches, on the issue of Purgatory, and polemical treatises against the Latins.
